Drivable Grass® is an aesthetically pleasing paving product that is designed to be used in place of concrete or asphalt driveways, patios, emergency and service vehicle access lands, and parking areas for cars, RVs and boats. Drivable Grass® also makes an environmentally friendly solution to bioswales, v-ditches and roadside swales.
Each paving tile measures 2' x 2' x 1-1/2?. Perforations and grooves in the mats let grass roots penetrate into the underlying soil. You can install it yourself if you’re ambitious, or you can hire a professional to do it. Areas covered with the tiles still absorb rainwater, which means no more standing water in your driveway and less runoff. As a patio surface, it can help you keep cool in the hot sun — grass reflects thermal energy much more efficiently than solid material like pavers or concrete.

The concrete paving mat is designed to flex and conform to irregular ground surface contours along pre-defined linear grooves without falling apart. Pre-manufactured holes and cracks allow for root penetration through the mat into subgrade soil, anchoring it firmly into place. The mat’s porous nature enables moisture to filter into the underlying soil, increasing on-site storm water storage and minimizing off-site water flow. Even when saturated, DRIVABLE GRASS® maintains its load support characteristics and drivable, grassy, surface while minimizing wheel rutting.

As something that goes hand in hand with the soils here in the DFW metroplex, Drivable Grass has the added benefit of impeding erosion and retaining soil on gentle slopes. (for retaining greater slopes see Verdura Retaining Wall page)

Drivable Grass is excellent for providing asthetically pleasing parking spaces for commercial properties that require extra space for office buildings, retail stores, car lots and many others, and can be more cost-effective than than pouring concrete parking lots.
